Hamza Shaikh believes Leicestershire's run to the Metro Bank One-Day Cup final is the perfect example of what can be achieved when a squad consistently finds players willing to step up at the right moments, after his superb century helped the Foxes overcome Nottinghamshire by 23 runs.
Shaikh produced the defining innings of the semi-final, smashing 104 from 109 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, as Leicestershire posted an imposing 303-7 from their 50 overs. Nick Kelly added an important 53 from 69 balls, while Ian Holland finished unbeaten on 29 from just 16 deliveries and Tom Scriven contributed an unbeaten six from three balls as the Foxes finished strongly.
