Yorkshire go into the 2026 season intent on continuing their improvements and sticking themselves in the top half of the County Championship Division One as their mix of youth and experience pays dividends.

Squad Overview

There has not been massive overhaul in the Yorkshire squad this coming season but it has been quite astute and they go into 2026 with an improved looking squad on paper. They have a lovely mix of experience and emerging youth. Leading from the front will be Jonny Bairstow and his runs and wicket-keeping will be crucial for Yorkshire and expect a big season from him.

Will Luxton and James Wharton are growing into the side and if Joe Root and Harry Brook start the season in the side, that will be huge for the first block of games to get as much out of them as possible.
