Leicestershire have been threatening to put together the complete performance all season. Sometimes just a poor session, often a complete innings has derailed them at the wrong time.
Against Essex they competed strongly before falling apart. Against Sussex they had periods of control without quite being able to sustain them. More often than not this season, there has been plenty to admire but not enough reward.
That changed emphatically at Grace Road on Sunday afternoon as the Foxes completed an innings and 39-run victory over Yorkshire, which not only delivered Leicestershire's first win of the 2026 Championship season, it also secured the club's first victory in Division One since 2003.
