Leicestershire return to the Rothesay County Championship Division One for the first time in over 20 years with high hopes of solidifying their place in English top league, starting with their home clash against Sussex at Grace Road on Friday.
The Foxes were dealt a huge blow last weekend with the news that Captain Peter Handscomb will miss the entire season due to family commitments, with replacement overseas, Aussie Test star Jake Weatherald taking his place in the line-up. Taking over the captaincy this season is Ian Holland, who took on the role at the back-end of last season after Handscomb’s return to Australia.
